Swami Sureshananda

Born in the birth place of Bhagawan Ramana Maharishi at Thiruchuli village, Swami Sureshananda, was born into the lap of spirituality and was destined to embark on a divine path.

As a monk at the Chinmaya Mission, Swamiji has tirelessly served the cause of our Pujya Gurudev's vision "To give maximum happiness to maximum people for maximum time".

As a young seeker, Swamiji  joined the “Tamil Sandeepany course” at Thamaraipakkam in the year 1997.  After two and a half years, he completed the Vedanta course under the guidance of Swami Shridarananda and took Brahmachari Deeksha in the year 1999, as Br.Amaresh Chaitanya from Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda ji. In the year of 2016 on Krishnashtami day, he was blessed with Sannyasa Deeksha given by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda ji.

His depth of knowledge in Tamil texts and other vedantic texts is reflected in the several articles that he has written on Gurudev Ashtothram and the essence of the Upanishads for magazines such as the Chinmaya Dindimah.

On completion of his Vedanta course, Swamiji has served several Chinmaya Mission centres within and outside of Tamil Nadu including the centres at Tamaraipakkam, Tiruvellore and Tiruchengode. His passion to serve the Mission is evident in the manner in which he engages in taking regular classes for seekers, Shravana Sadana and in conducting Yagnas. He is also in charge of the Chinmaya Study Group, working for the improvement of study groups in Chennai. He has also conducted more than 25 camps in many ashrams within India. A simple and soft spoken person, Swamiji’s talks are appealing to seekers across different age groups.

Swamiji’s vision is to help people choose the right means to be happy through right knowledge by transforming the lives of people with his knowledge of a spiritual path.
